Electric dirt bikes and Traxxas RC for Idaho Falls riders
B&L Specialties sits on Highway 39 west of Blackfoot, about half an hour south of Idaho Falls. Here is the drive, the riding that is genuinely closest to you, and a straight account of when the trip is worth making.
The drive Idaho Falls to Blackfoot
One interstate, one exit, one turn.
No pass, no canyon, no city traffic at either end.
Get on I-15 southbound — Exit 118 or Exit 113 depending on which side of Idaho Falls you start from — and stay on it for roughly 25 miles. Come off at Exit 93, the Blackfoot interchange signed for US-26, Highway 39 and Aberdeen. Turn west at the bottom of the ramp, follow Highway 39, and the shop is a few miles out past the west edge of town.
Mapping apps put the trip at 29 to 30 miles and a shade under half an hour, which holds up in practice outside of potato harvest and winter weather.
If you would rather stay off the interstate, US-91 runs south through Shelley and Firth into Blackfoot, where you pick up Highway 39 west. It is two-lane through farm country and adds ten minutes or so, but it is the better of the two drives.

Riding Near Idaho Falls
Where these bikes actually get used.
Three places within easy reach of town, from a practice loop to a full day out.
Noise Park, Arco Highway
The city-run OHV area at 8433 W Arco Highway is the closest legal riding to Idaho Falls. Alongside the motocross track there is a one-way single-track loop of about six miles with whoops, volcanic rock, sand and hard-packed dirt. An Idaho ORV decal is required, and season passes are sold through the Idaho Falls Recreation Center.
Bone Road and Wolverine Canyon
Head southeast out of town on Bone Road, past the Bone store, and up into Wolverine Canyon. The run is rated easy, mixes private ranch ground with public land, and passes the old Ozone townsite that emptied out after the 1920 drought. It is rideable most of the year and connects on toward the Caribou Loop for anyone wanting a longer day.
Rash Canyon
East of town toward Fall Creek, the Rash Canyon loop runs about ten miles from the South Fork Fall Creek motorized trailhead. It is a genuine beginner route — some ruts, some erosion-barrier whoops, bridges rather than water crossings — and it is green with grass and wildflowers in early summer.
Before you load up
Most of this is Caribou-Targhee National Forest or BLM ground, and an electric bike is still an off-highway vehicle in Idaho's eyes. A current OHV sticker is the baseline. The honest case Why drive down
Idaho Falls is not short of hobby shops.
So the reasons to come 29 miles south are narrow and specific rather than general.
- Three e-dirt-bike brands on one floor. Arctic Leopard USA, 79Bike Electric and Rerode, in youth through adult frame sizes. Sitting on them back to back tells you more about fit and reach than any spec sheet will.
- Bikes are built here before they leave. They arrive crated. We assemble and inspect them in the shop, so what you collect is set up and checked rather than boxed.
- The part on the shelf today. We stock replacement parts, hop-ups and hardware for Slash 4X4, Rustler 4X4, Stampede 4X4 and Maxx, plus LiPo packs, EZ-Peak chargers, bodies, tires, wheels and radios. When something breaks on a Friday night, a drawer 29 miles away beats a shipping estimate.
- Saturday mornings. We are open 10am to 12pm on Saturdays, which for a lot of people is the only time the drive fits.
- Straight answers. If a bike is the wrong size or the wrong power for the rider, we will say so.

How long is the drive from Idaho Falls to B&L Specialties?
Around 30 minutes. Take I-15 south for roughly 25 miles to Exit 93, the Blackfoot interchange signed for US-26, Highway 39 and Aberdeen, then head west on Highway 39. The shop is a few miles west of the interstate.
Does an electric dirt bike need an Idaho OHV sticker?
Yes. Idaho treats an electric dirt bike as an off-highway vehicle, so it needs a current OHV registration sticker to be ridden on public trails and public land, the same as a gas bike. Noise Park in Idaho Falls also requires an Idaho ORV decal.
