Assembled and inspected before it leaves
Electric dirt bikes ship from the manufacturer in a crate, partly disassembled. Ordering one online means the crate arrives at your house and the assembly is yours to sort out — bars, forks, brakes, wheel torque and the initial charge cycle.
We do that work here. Each bike is built, torqued and checked over in the shop, and we set the controls up for the rider it is going to. If something is wrong out of the crate, we deal with the manufacturer instead of leaving you to file the claim.
The practical difference
A shipped crate is a project. A bike from the floor is ready to ride, and if something needs adjusting later you can bring it back to the people who built it.
Sizing a bike to the rider
Age is a rough guide at best. What matters is seat height against the rider's inseam, reach to the bars, and whether the rider can hold the bike up confidently at a stop. A beginner who has to stretch for the ground will ride tentatively and drop the bike more.
Frame sizes and seat heights differ between the three brands in ways that are genuinely hard to judge from photographs. Bringing the rider in and sitting them on two or three bikes settles it in a few minutes. Our guide to choosing a youth electric dirt bike covers the sizing logic in more detail.
Before you ride: Idaho treats these as off-highway vehicles
This surprises most first-time buyers, so it is worth being direct about it. Idaho law defines an electric bicycle as having fully operable pedals and a motor under 750 watts. The bikes on our floor have no pedals and exceed that limit, so they are not electric bicycles under the state's definition.
In practice that means they are treated as off-highway vehicles: they are not street legal as sold, and riding on public land or trails means registering the machine and meeting the equipment rules that go with it. None of that is difficult, but it is better known before the purchase than after.

Do you assemble the bikes before I pick them up?
Yes. Bikes arrive crated from the manufacturer. We build and inspect each one in the shop before it leaves, which is the main practical difference between buying here and having a crate shipped to your driveway.
Are these electric dirt bikes street legal in Idaho?
Generally no. These bikes have no pedals and exceed the 750-watt limit, so they do not meet the definition of an electric bicycle under Idaho law. They are treated as off-highway vehicles, which means OHV registration for riding on public land and trails. Read the full explanation.
What size electric dirt bike does my child need?
Size by the rider rather than by age alone. Seat height relative to inseam matters most, and a beginner should be able to get the balls of both feet down comfortably. Bring the rider in and we can check fit across sizes on the floor.
